Nadja Swarovski, Zaha Hadid, Patrik Schumacher, Hans Ulrich Obrist and Julia Peyton-Jones share a joke yesterday at the opening of Lilas: an installation by Zaha Hadid Architects at the Serpentine Gallery in London. Kids’ workshop

Every Sunday throughout July, between 2 - 5pm, budding young architects can design and build their own amazing buildings and landmark structures at the Design Museum. These workshops are £4 for children, who must be accompanied by an adult £7. Cost includes entry to exhibitions. Workshop are suitable for children aged 5 - 11. Booking is essential to avoid dissapointment.

The picture shows Dhian Dhaliwal, 5, and the ‘modern eco-home’ he built at the Architecture Week kids workshop at the museum. His eco-home features chickens and a fruit and vegtable patch for a self-sufficient lifestyle.

Designs stars at the private view

Famous designers including Stella McCartney, Ron Arad, Nigel Coates and Tom Dixon - and Zaha herself of course - were at the private view for the Zaha show at the Design Museum the other week. This video by Gemma Coombs shows them all milling at the party with the likes of Tate Modern director Sir Nicholas Serota and Sir Terence Conran. The South Bank Show - Zaha Hadid

ITV1 will broadcast a special South Bank Show on Sunday night, devoted to Zaha Hadid. The arts programme has been filmed to tie in with the exhibition at the Design Museum, and sees Zaha walking round and talking about some of her built projects, including the Phaeno science centre in Wolfsburg, Germany.

The programme starts at 22.45, Sunday 1 July, on ITV1.
