The anticipation of seeing something close up…..
Jun 7th, 2007I have been fascinated by Zaha Hadid’s drawings and creations, ever since an artist friend of mine intorduced me to a book on her early works. It’s quite ironic really, that an artist found her and completely got into what she does, as she herself is not an artist as such, but a building designer… The two seem so far removed, yet when I see her drawings, I see a mindset not a million miles away from some of my forward thinking graffiti contempories, such as Joker, Futura or She One.
The lines, the shapes, alot of which reflect letter shapes, are beautiful to look at and have a perpetual motion even though they’re 2 dimensional.
I am personally quite excited to see these drawings in the flesh and maybe I can even get Zaha out to paint a wall with me…
